Real Wedding | Small & Intimate

Another small and intimate Jackson Hole wedding featuring Emily and Tim of Scottsdale, AZ. Emily’s dress by Pronovias was amazing. Really… It was so unique and looked like a vintage gown handed down from generations past. Emily was so pretty. Stunning really. She was so easy to work with and be around. I loved this wedding from beginning to end. Tim was a great subject to photograph as well. What a great smile he has. One of my most favorite things about this wedding was the bridesmaids dresses. They’re designed by Calypso St. Barth. I had another wedding client last year choose these same dresses. The color was so sweet too. The ceremony was held at The Wedding Tree up near Slide Lake. I had never shot there before – I was excited to finally get up there and see this almost secret and amazing location. Below is part I of II.

Real Wedding | Small & Intimate

I am booking quite a few small, intimate weddings this summer – especially during the week. Many of my clients choose Jackson Hole as a destintion with the intention of having a very small event. What I adore most about these events is their easy going nature—I often feel as if I’m one of the guests. The attention to detail is still just as elaborate, locations amazing, bride is still obviously stunning, however the feel of the event is completely relaxed. I will be featuring a few small weddings this week starting with Britt and Don’s wedding from May 2008. Around 30 guests were treated to a lovely reception at Couloir Restaurant at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Flowers by Lily & Co.

Jackson Hole Bride | Kim Atkinson {Part 02}

I loved this winter wedding… I arrived at the Four Seasons around 4:45pm on December 06, 2008. The moment I walked to take a sneak peak at Kim and Craig’s reception room, I was blown away! The florals were designed by the talented Ian Whipple – they were phenomenal! There after, I ran upstairs to capture Kim in her gorgeous Monique Lhuillier dress. Her dress was like a dream. Romantic and soft… Her shoes were perfect and by my favorite shoe designer, Kate Spade (as seen in part 01). It was dark by 5pm, so I had to improvise with the lighting. I love the portrait of her in her dress sitting on the bed. Kim was so at ease…

The Four Seasons has renovated the terrace room just off the ballroom. It is a full fledged “room” now with lovely carpet – perfect for an intimate winter wedding. Tom Jordan officiated the ceremony, and Keith Phillips performed all the lovely ceremony music – Kim walked down the aisle to Canon in D.

From there I photographed the bride and groom all over the hotel space. There were lovely Christmas trees throughout the interior so we took full advantage of them. The trees were Kim’s idea and I love the warmth they provided.

The reception was lovely. No details were missed.

Jackson Hole Bride | Kim Atkinson {Part 01}

Kim and Craig were married on December 06, 2008. Kim shares some of her wedding details with us…

Craig had lived in Jackson Hole for a summer after college, so he planned our engagement there in December 2007. We thought it was so magical that we arranged a meeting with Nicole at the Four Seasons a half hour before we left for the airport to go home, and picked our wedding date then and there. It was absolutely the right decision—everyone at the Four Seasons did such an amazing job, as did everyone we worked with! I wore a fall 2008 Monique Lhuillier gown, and Craig wore a Prada tuxedo we picked up at the outlets in Italy for a song. He’s a huge architecture buff, so I gave him cufflinks from the Frank Gehry collection at Tiffany for his wedding gift; I love interior design, so he gave me a marble jewelry box by designer Kelly Wearstler. The wedding favors were customized chocolate truffles by cult Chicago chocolatier Vosges Haut Chocolate.
